Lindsay King qualified as a Speech and language therapist in 1987 and has extensive experience working predominantly with adults who have acquired neurological communication, cognitive, and swallowing difficulties. In both the NHS and the private sector, I have treated people from a wide variety of settings in particular community hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation units, residential and nursing homes, and peoples’ own homes.
Throughout my career, I have developed specialties in a number of clinical areas including cognitive communication disorders, dysphasia, and dysarthria.
As a result, I am an ardent advocator of the benefits of communication and dysphagia therapy following a stroke or an ABI regardless of where you or your family are in terms of your unique journey to recovery.
I use a range of assessments, both formal and informal, to help build a suitable therapy programme together with your ideas of what you would like to achieve. My approach is completely person-centred and creative. I apply current theory and evidence -based practice wherever possible to meet and overcome your specific needs and hurdles.
